How God Revealed Someone Special had Passed Away

I grew up with a woman in my life who served in the role of grandmother to my siblings and me, as one of my grandmothers passed before I was born and the other lived states away. It was fall of 2025, and this woman had recently moved from her home to another state, and I had not been able to visit her yet.

The dream came between nighttime October 3 and early morning October 4.  I dreamed I was getting into one of the twin beds at her house. It had two extra blankets on top of the usual quilt I was used to, and it was oh so cozy. My pseudo-grandmother was asleep in the other twin bed with one my kiddos, who was much younger in the dream than at present time. I pulled up the covers and closed my eyes. I was just so warm and cozy and peaceful. And that was the end of the dream.

This seemed to signal the closing of a season of life we all had known together and cherished. Curious, I reached out to her daughter, and she let me know that about a week before my dream, her mom had passed. I am so thankful for this woman in my life, who loved me like one of her own. What a legacy of pure-heartedness and goodness she left in the world. I hope I leave half that legacy. I think she really is one of my heros.

I am also thankful to God for his communication. I had been wondering how she was, and he let me know. The way he did it was wonderful, with beautiful memories of a beautiful time. It was like closing the curtain with a full heart. It blessed me so much. How amazed I continually am at how well God knows us...how to woo, how to comfort, how to encourage. He's in love with us. So this quick post is to encourage those who need it - or maybe have never heard it, God wants relationship with you. He is speaking to you, and he is calling you by name. He wants to hold your hand and protect your heart. What an invitation.

Blessings,

Jenny
